Info Touch Technologies rolls out MapPoint with Microsoft ISV Program
Adds mapping capability to public Internet kiosks
BURNABY, BC, July 9, 2001
TORONTO, July 9, 2001 — Info Touch Technologies today announced it has executed an agreement with Microsoft to enrich its Surfnet Premiere kiosk software by embedding the Microsoft MapPoint 2002 ActiveX application as part of its offerings.
“MapPoint brings a rich suite of new capabilities to our Surfnet Premiere Kiosk Management platform that we believe makes it an even more compelling offering,” said Hamed Shahbazi, chairman and CEO of Info Touch. “This new relationship furthers our goal of helping traditional bricks-and-mortar organizations extend their market reach and product offerings by integrating them with truly robust public access Internet-based kiosk technology.”
MapPoint enables Info Touch to deliver meaningful mapping services to its clients by enabling:
Users to browse and view detailed maps and directions
Users to print, email or receive such maps/directions via infrared to a Pocket PC
Kiosk operators to enhance their ROI by selling powerful location-based advertising
Enabling powerful locating services for stores, service depots or dealer locations
