FINANCIAL RESULTS FOR Q2, 2003
--Profitable Growth Achieved-
Burnaby, BC, April 2, 2003 –
Info Touch Technologies (www.infotouch.net) (TSX Venture Exchange: IFT) today announced strong operating results for the three and six month periods ended January 31, 2003. The Company is pleased to report that it achieved growth and profitability for the first time in the quarter ended Jan 31/03 with a profit of $9,173 on revenue of $916,579 compared to a loss of $356,099 on revenue of $794,366 for the quarter ended January 31, 2002. The company continued to see improved traction in its business model with revenue derived 33% from transactional fees, 23% from software, and 18% from kiosk systems sales for the six months ended January 31, 2003.
For the six months ended January 31, 2003 the company reported a substantial increase in gross profit margins to 64% of sales on revenue of $1,601,401 versus 40% on revenue of $2,035,396, one year ago. This is the result of the new business model that is based on software and service centric sales, including a growing percentage of recurring revenue. These results combined with decreases in operating costs, administrative, selling and marketing expenses narrowed the six month loss to $53,312 from $623,233 one year ago.
“The company’s primary objective is ‘Sustained Profitable Growth’ and the results to date indicate a very positive trend has been established towards achieving this goal, ” stated Hamed Shahbazi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Info Touch. “We are working hard on all our deployment projects, including the Circle K/Zaplink deployment to ensure their success and we anticipate reporting positive results in the quarters ahead.”
