Burnaby, BC, January 2, 2002 - Info Touch Technologies Corp. (www.infotouch.net) (CDNX: IFT) today announced operating results for the first quarter of 2002 ended October 31, 2001. The Company reported revenues of $1,241,030, Info Touch's strongest quarterly sales in the Company's history, an 84% increase over sales of $674,082 in the same period a year ago. The Company also reported a 29% decrease in administrative, selling and marketing expenses that substantially reduced the quarterly operational loss from $695,317 (loss of $0.07 per share) in the previous year to a quarterly loss of $267,935 (loss of $0.02 per share) in the last period.
"We are very pleased with the Company's performance," said Hamed Shahbazi, Info Touch CEO and Chairman. "This quarter reflects the hard work and success of many people and our strategic initiatives. The alliance with Phillips/Circle K in Arizona was the outcome of several months of collaborative efforts, and both sides are very happy with the initial rollout. We're very optimistic this will translate to considerably more deployments at Phillips locations over 2002.
Mr. Shahbazi continued: "In September, Compaq announced a $750,000 strategic investment in Info Touch as well as a multi-year marketing alliance. These relationships, along with established partnerships with such industry leaders as Microsoft and WorldCom, and large customers as the U.S. Armed Forces and Chapters Indigo Bookstores, demonstrate broad and deep confidence in our business model and our market potential. I believe our performance in the quarter is an excellent indicator of our ability to quickly convert these relationships into sales. From a quarter-over-quarter perspective, we actually increased our sales about 449%, and we expect to continue to realize growing sales from Phillips and Compaq. In the coming months, we will be announcing further strategic relationships that we believe will further enhance our established relationships. It's going to be an exciting year in this industry, and we are in an excellent position to capitalize on the opportunities."
New product offerings include Voice-over Internet Protocol (VOIP) for telephone calls anywhere in the world, Video teleconferencing, Pre-paid telecommunications, such as long distance and cellular, Local news and information, including a locator service for maps and driving directions, Bill payment, including cash payments for Internet purchases, E-mail access, On-line shopping, Internet surfing, entertainment and games and the capability to download electronic media, such as music and software, to portable customer device.
